Olympic multi-champion
Belonging to the Sports Group of the Guardia di Finanza since 1988, he has won numerous medals in national, European and world competitions. Among them: a bronze medal at the Barcelona Olympics (1992), two golds at the Atlanta Olympics (1996), a gold at the Sydney Olympics (2000), a silver at the Athens Olympics (2004), three golds at the World Championships .
He was designated to represent the sporting world at the Jubilee of Athletes (2000), named “National Sports Ambassador” (2004), elected member of the National Council of CONI (2005), Italian flag bearer at the Beijing Olympics (2008), appointed Councilor at the Sport of the Province of Lecco (2009), elected President of the Athletes Commission of the European Olympic Committee (2009) and elected member of the National Council of CONI (2013).
In 2013 he was appointed Councilor for Sports and Youth Policies of the Lombardy Region.
He participated in the MCE18 and will return this year to gift us his presence and “sportiness” in the round table of Valentina Graziosi.
