Dear associates, climbers, mountaineers, cliffs, blocks, walls lovers or simply trekkers who explore Mountain in all its beauty, the Urban Wall Gym invites you on 25-26 January 2019 at Milan Climbing Expo 19!

It is the second edition of an asset that UrbanWall intends to pursue over the years, to make it become a milestone in the international climbing scene; we have many reasons and we are happy to do so, also and above all in terms of our social participation for the development of the climbing movement.
So we are back on track, or better on the “wall”, for the new edition, for which we have treasured the positive and proactive comments after the first experience. This year we will get over it, it’s a promise!

BUT WHAT IS THE NEW MILAN CLIMBING EXPO 2019 about?! HERE’S THE PROGRAM THAT WE DEVELOPED FOR YOU!

Co-authors and Conductors of the 2019 session will be the journalist Valentina Graziosi and the journalist Dario Ricci who with their experience and passion for the mountains will take us by the hand through the two days event. Athlete Anak Verhoeven and the climber Federica Mingolla will support them for technical comments and to interview the athletes who will partecipate.

Friday afternoon, from 4pm, our Juniores Kundalini athletes will engage in a training session to “warm up” the event under the guidance of their instructors Mauro, Andrea and Stefano.  A cooperation with the Olympic team of the People’s Republic of China coaches will see these working with our instructors for a training session exchange that will make our little athletes happy.  Tito Pozzoli will also be present to show how the SKILL methodology developed by him is fundamental for the technical preparation of future great athletes, and more.

At 5:45 pm, to get to the heart of Milano Climbing Expo 2019, Andrea Pilo will thrill us with a performance of Trial Bike.

From 6pm to 9pm, young athletes, future and current promises of Italian climbing, and some athletes of the Olympic team of the People’s Republic of China will compete in the qualifications for the Lead and Boulder Competitions happening the next day. The first two classified by category and discipline will thus be able to access the MCE19-UW Lead and Boulder races on Saturday, January the 26th.

At the end of the qualifications Valentina Graziosi will lead “The wings on the fingers“, a Talk&Video Show conceived and coordinated by Valentina herself. Speakers will include Barbara Zangerl and Jacopo Larcher, Sara Grippo and Stefano Ghisolfi, Antonio Rossi, Laura Rogora, Michele Maggioni and other surprise guests.

Saturday will be the turn of the workshops, open to all the interested public who will come to Urban Wall gym and the races among the top!

Enthusiasts can climb with the top international climbers, choosing among nine workshops held in two different sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
Among others, for this new edition of Milan Climbing Expo, we will present a workshop on Paraclimbing: men and women with a physical handicap will show how climbing, their great passion, has helped them in the path of overcoming their disability.

It is possible to participate in several workshops in both sessions, for a total of three hours of fun with the climbing champions! Pre-registration is welcome at this link.

From 4pm on, the game will get tough … and the tough ones will start playing! The top climbers and the athletes who qualified from the Friday races will compete in the MCE-UW Lead and Boulder … can you already imagine who will get the top?!
The public who cannot attend the event will still have the opportunity to watch the competitions live on our streaming channels.
Partners and sponsors who support us this year will involve you in activities and contests and will be waiting for you with interesting gadgets and news.

The event will be live on our social channels and broadcasted in livestreaming. It will also be fully taken over by Sky Italia: Milan Climbing Expo 2019 will therefore become a TV asset within Icarus, a SKY Italia program dedicated to sport.
